The Curious Villain: An Exploration of Self-mastery

a collage of THE Diahann Carroll as the center with the title "the curious villain: an exploration of the villain arc for self-mastery."

My quest to explore the villain narrative and archetype as it pertains to self-mastery led me here. Really, it began with this TikTok.

The creator, Vanessa, challenged her community to join her 75 Hard (still don’t quite know what that means) Villain Challenge but for creatives. Placing the ball in our court to master our craft. This blew my mind and led me down a rabbit hole of understanding the villain narrative. Amid that exploration, I realized… we may be viewing the villain all wrong.

You can find those videos here.

In this week newsletter, I continue my exploration and add notes of curiosity, sparked my one of my fave creators—Pea the Faery. With trying to synthesize my thoughts, it became challenging to write them out, so… I recorded them.

Below is an inside look of how my mind processings new information and begins to integrate with the current.
